Bestselling author Melissa Hemsley celebrates easy and affordable healthy food that everyone can enjoy, as well as a more sustainable way of eating for everyone. She began her food career as a private chef for international actors and bands, including Take That, and has written and co-written four bestselling books, published internationally: The Art of Eating Well; Good + Simple; Eat Happy and Eat Green. Feel Good is her fifth book.
Melissa is a proud supporter of food waste charity The Felix Project, and volunteers with them regularly to rescue surplus food and to cook for children and the vulnerable. She is an ambassador for Mental Health Mates, the Fairtrade Foundation and Women Supporting Women (The Prince's Trust), among others.
She hosts three of her own event series: The Sustainability Sessions, Cook Together Cook Alongs and The FeelGood Sessions, where she chats to leading experts, well-known faces and fellow chefs about everything from their mental wellbeing to planet-friendly kitchen tips.
Melissa regularly appears on Lorraine (ITV1) and a host of other cookery and news shows, often speaking on behalf of the charity and community projects she works with.
Melissa lives with her boyfriend and dog in East London, where she cooks, writes, tries to grow veg and feeds a steady stream of hungry friends, happily squeezed around her kitchen table.
