Despite having been in existence for almost half acentury, ESP still continues to be characterised byserious methodological and pedagogical problems inits theory and practice. Evaluation is one of themost persistent problems that ESP has been facedwith. ESP practitioners have concentrated more on ESPmaterials evaluation without providing clearguidelines on how the course should be evaluated. Theother issue has been the nature of ESP itself and theinherent need to develop different evaluativestrategies that would suit a language course thatfocuses both on the acquisition of linguisticknowledge and occupational skills, such as ESP. Thisbook attempts to address some of these problems byevaluating the Business English programme, asub-genre of ESP, in Kenya. The study is anevaluative survey, which investigates the currentsituation with regard to the fluctuating performanceby students in Business English examinations syllabusare some of the recommendations that are put forwardin a bid to address this problem.
