Development of drainage system is controlled by the lithology and gradient of the surface. In extreme conditions these are overtaken by the factor such as discharge. The drainage system development in this area is dominated by the laterite rock. Presence of rocks like laterite gives rise to totally different drainage pattern than surrounding regions. This book covers aspects like drainage patterns, drainage development on the laterite plateau. This is more area specific description of the drainage development but similar type of development is found in the areas where high level laterite is present.
