Domestic violence is a problem that spans generations and, over the last few decades, has been the central theme of several studies, considering the greater exposure of the topic in the media and also an encouragement to report it, as well as more accurate surveillance. Relational dysfunctions between parents have repercussions and perpetuate themselves in the lives of children who are both spectators and victims. In this sense, this study sought to assess perceptions of domestic violence in the lives of mothers and adolescents through semi-structured interviews and the construction of genograms.
