To find an objective knowledge in the discipline of political science, all researchers have to juggle "theory," "logic," and "methodology," which are the trinity in positivistic traditions as a whole. However, I value "logic" as the most important part of the scientific research; logic is the beginning of wisdom. The major argument of my "diversionary cooperation theory" is that decision-makers can utilize cooperative events to divert public attention from their domestic policy failure as the diversionary theorists argues that the decision-makers take advantage of external disputes for their private interests, extension of political power. Despite my attempt to find any possible causal relationships between the domestic factors and the international cooperation, the empirical analyses do not convey much meaningful and remarkable result to support my argument. However, I am delighted to delve into a rigorous research question that stimulates my academic enthusiasm.
