Do they have telephones up in heaven ? is an anthology of poems penned during my first year in Paediatric residency to commemorate the many stories and lessons learnt from the children and families I was fortunate to work with through a myriad of rotations. There are special moments of joy, heartbreak, love, anger and lessons learnt captured in these pages. Children with life-threatening or life-limiting illnesses often lead a life filled with trials and tribulations but this collection proves that there is hope and happiness even in the darkest of times. Most importantly, these children have taught me that life is not in the medicine or in their treatments but rather life is in the humanity around them from the kindness, the care and the concern they receive from everyone around them from family to the medical team to allied health care staff. This anthology also serves as a memory to children we have lost this year. They will always be in our hearts. Life is short, let us live each day as it was our last. Peace and love always, Pravin xx.
