The genetic diversity among pearl millet & Napier grass has been discussed based on the study made on their available germplasms. Findings on the genetic variability, heritability of the traits & correlation along with path analysis among the associated traits has also been explained in detail. The future aspects of this study would be the identification and selection of superior genotypes based on the high green fodder yield with quality and using the diverse genotypes to evolve pearl millet Napier hybrid. Based on the per se performance and cluster mean of genotypes with respect to desirable traits it was concluded that, pearl millet genotype GP 16021, IP 22269 and Napier genotypes, FD 471 & FD 434 were identified as potential genotypes in terms of fodder yield. These genotypes may be utilized effectively in the breeding programme to develop highly productive hybrids so as to bridge the gap between demand and supply of green fodder to certain extent in our country.
