Economic development of an economy means higher per capita real income, accompanied by an increase both in production and productivity, reduction in inequalities of income, asset distribution and removal of unemployment. The optimum utilization of human and physical resources in productive directions will lead to the reduction of unemployment and will boost the income of the society. The existence of socio-economic inequalities in underdeveloped economies is abysmal. These inequalities are mainly due to low rate of development which is influenced by economic as well as by non-economic factors. The economic inequalities can be attributed to the low rate of gain of development.
