The author analyses poems by German-writing poets of the last century: from Else Lasker-Schuler, Georg Trakl and Bertolt Brecht through Karl Wolfskehl, Gertrud Kolmar and Nelly Sachs to Ingeborg Bachmann, Christine Lavant, Thomas Bernhard, Friedrich Durrenmatt and Peter Huchel. Special attention is given to some poets from the Bucovina: Alfred Margul-Sperber, Isaac Schreyer, Alfred Gong, Immanuel Weissglas and Paul Celan.
