The former resilience of the American spirit, of the American character, of the American engine of change is starting to ossify; hardened by a political environment of uncooperative extremes that are unprepared to think about the overall good of the country. When we voted for 'Change' in 2008, wasn't Barack Hussein Obama going to be our Neo? Wasn't he going to rescue us from a fate where: ALL systems in government were damaged or broken. We were confronted with economic collapse, military exhaustion and international embarrassment. When you looked at the political horizon back then, hurricane clouds were forming. From my prejudiced perspective as an 'Obama Disciple', he has burnished our tarnished international reputation. He has valiantly fought and dismembered a dangerous terror network. We are getting out of Iraq at year's end. He brought the American and the global economy away from the brink of total collapse. He brought us health care and financial reform. He preached a gospel of unity. We can disagree without being disagreeable
