Diabetic macular edema (DME) is a major public health problem and is currently considered one of the leading causes of visual impairment in the world. Intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF have shown their long-lasting and proven efficacy in DME, in addition to improving peripheral diabetic retinopathy, and all this with an excellent tolerance and in association with pan-retinal pan-coagulation.We insist through this work on the interest of adequate primary and secondary prevention before this advanced stage of diabetic maculopathy to avoid blindness related to diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema.
