With all cars having their own specialty and unique selling points, there is no such car as the perfect car. It is the personal requirements of a customer from his car that makes a car perfect for him and not the specifications of the car. Thus, this study is focused on developing a web-based decision support system that will help users choose the best car for them based on their personal requirements. The DSS also helps the users estimate the cost associated with different commuting options like, using a personal car, a rented car, a cab, and a public transport based on the users input of his average daily commute on weekdays and weekends. Thus, this DSS could be of much help to users as it helps them decide if buying a personal car would be in their budget. The study also looks into the added advantages, like lower carbon emission associated with commuting in a public transport which is the cheapest means of transportation worldwide.

Born in Pokhara, Nepal in 1985, Anuj Shrestha did his schooling in Pokhara. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University in 2008 and his master's degree in Technology & Innovation Management in 2014 from the same university. Since 2008 he has been working on various projects.
