The present work deals with determiners in Siin Seereer, a language belonging to the West Atlantic branch of the Niger- Congo family. More specific research questions concern the uses, the places and functioning of this language's determiners. Thus, there are several determiners known as class markers in this language and their uses and meaning depend on what the speaker wants to express or on their positions towards the noun. However, some of these operators can be placed after or before the noun they determine. But the meaning they have when they are placed before the noun is different from the one they have when they are used after the noun.

Jean Christophe FAYE is a grammar Teacher at the English Department in Cheikh Anta Diop University. He defended his PhD Thesis in Linguistics / Grammar in 2016. One year before, he was hired at the Senegalsese Parliament as an Interpreter. He has published a few works some of which six articles and one book on English and Siin Seereer grammars.
