This book shows how the combined use of coffee farm sizes, fertilizers and spray chemicals of the small scale farmers contribute to coffee productivity in Kenya; how each of the three factors contribute individually to coffee productivity; how the supply response of coffee output varies based on coffee prices and input costs; and the trends in coffee output by the small scale farmers in the County of Kiambu in Kenya. The estimation results of the supply response based on the Nerlove model shows that coffee output in the current period varies significantly with changes in the coffee output in the previous period and its two-year lag. The estimation results also show that prices of coffee are statistically insignificant in relation to coffee output. The book also recommends the use of triple 17 and CAN fertilizers, and copper type of spray to increase coffee productivity.
