The study of business ethics is an area that hasgained a lot of attention around the world and is anever-growing one in light of the many corporatescandals that have rocked economies in many countriesaround the globe. In many of the cases concerningcorporate scandals, many have taken place indeveloped nations, and authors have devoted muchattention to investigating the possible causes,including those that analyse the problem from anindividuals ethical behaviour standpoint.As a developing nation, Malaysia has seen its shareof corporate irregularities, and accusations ofbreaches of ethical conduct by those who have aninterest in corporate transparency and governancehave made local headlines. What factors ordeterminants influence an individuals ethicalbehaviour would be useful in these cases, but adearth of studies from a Malaysian context does notallow this analysis to take place. Therefore, the purpose of this exploratory study isto examine the impact of certain determinants on theperceptions of ethical behaviour of corporatemanagers in Malaysia.
