In tomato plants various diseases are caused by various pathogens like fungus, bacterial, virus and insects. These diseases are bud blight disease, early blight, gray leaf spot, late blight, bacterial speck, buckeye rot and tomato mosaic virus are the main diseases. In India, groundnut bud necrosis virus (GBNV), peanut yellow spot virus (PYSV) and watermelon bud necrosis virus (WBNV) have been reported to infect a broad range of vegetables (tomato, potato, chilli, peppers, and watermelon). The tomato Tospovirus is now increasing in India on tomatoes, it occurs at high proportions in some states, especially in the states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. The losses due to this disease in tomatoes depends mainly on the level of incidence stage of infection and severity of symptoms. Flowering and fruit formation stage is susceptible to this virus. Realizing the significance of the problem associated with the tomato production, we would like to contribute to agricultural developments in India motivated to develop a user-friendly application for the persons associated with agricultural developments, using image processing techniques to detect diseases.
