With the advances of sensing technology, sensorstoday are capable of sensing, communicating,self-scheduling, data processing, and moving from oneplace to another. Sensors have become an importantpart of our daily life. For example, sensors are usedto secure important infrastructure, monitor thetraffic, and protect our borders. However, wirelessnetworks that can be formed from such sensors stillface many challenges due to sensor limitations inenergy, memory, computation power, and sensingreliability. In addition, hot spots in the monitoredfield may require sensors with specialcharacteristics. Moreover, the required monitoringtime may vary from one application to another;keeping this network alive during the monitoring timeposes another challenge.In this book, we address the deployment of mobileheterogeneous sensors in fields with hot spots for aspecific period of time. The book looks into therealistic sensor deployment parameters and formallydefines the deployment problems. Moreover, itexplores some of the current solutions to the problem.

Dr. Rabie A. Ramadan is currently a lecturer at Al-Azhar
University and affiliated with German University in Cairo. He got
his master and Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University, Dallas,
TX, USA. His field of interest is mainly Wireless Sensor Network
(WSN). He has many of the publications in this field.
