Society has a distorted view of perfection. What is perceived as perfection varies from one being to the next. People often spend their lives trying to appear perfect in other people's view of perfection or even their own distorted view. The distorted views have been developed because society has made us believe that perfection exists and how it should look. I have spent countless hours hiding my hand, in order to appear perfect, and not be judged. If you want perfection, you have to look in the mirror and accept yourself as "perfect." Perfect is what you recognize as perfect. Like God made me this way, so this is the way I was meant to be, which equals perfection. I'm still a work in progress. But every day I remind myself that my deformity does not define me. People are entitled to their opinion, so their opinions will be something I will just have to deal with for the rest of my life. I can't live my life in fear of what others will say or how they will judge me. I have to live my life loving me. People are always going to ask questions, look at my hand in disgust, or just be ignorant and hurtful, but I'm looking for the people who love and accept me just as I am. Never be afraid to show the world who you are. Love your whole self-and the world will be an easier place.
