Dance of the Night is a montage of short stories, vignettes, poems and dreamscapes; written to appeal to a general audience. Although this compilation is a work of fiction, it is reflective of the author's faith in God, her dreams, musings, and piecemeal recollections of her journey through this thing called life. Introduction INTRODUCTION I have danced the "dance of the night," dressed in multi-colored threads of my life on the ballroom floor of profound love for my family, friends and God's perfect creation. Each dance is perfectly choreographed and as lovingly executed as the Alvin Ailey dancers fired by the passion of the Gregory Maqoma styling's adorned in the tapestries of Maximo Laura and fashioned on the loom of Daisy Taugelchee. See the colors of my wardrobe change as time and circumstances shape my dance. Each thread is carefully placed into the main pattern, a winding path through a forest strewn with cockle shells and boulders upon the eternal ballroom of a well executed performance while dressed in ever changing earth tones as vibrant as the setting sun as it rests on the horizon of the dance floor. I twirl in vibrant threads of rich brown like wet soil, blue like the clear ocean, gray like the sky during a storm, black like all good nights, white like the first snow of winter, yellow like the first daffodil of spring, red like blooming impatiens in summer, and crystal like autumn rain. I have carefully tempered every step of my dance through time to reflect my ever growing love for God and the whole His of creation. My dance is a demonstration of the universality of the energy of life. Perhaps you may recognize in the movements of my dance some part of yourself.
