The cancer experience is a crisis situation that calls on everyone's ability to adapt. The many challenges posed by this adaptation put the individual at risk of experiencing depressive feelings, particularly in periods of transition such as the post-treatment stage. Several therapeutic interventions have been documented in the treatment of depression in cancer patients. Our aim was to evaluate the contribution of cognitive-behavioural therapies in the post-treatment phase of breast cancer through observation and a review of the literature. In view of the results obtained in the present study and the data in the scientific literature, cognitive-behavioural therapies offer clinical advantages that could make them a therapy of choice for depressed people coping with the post-cancer period.
