Dr Hazel H. Oon
Dr Oon is Chief of the Psoriasis Unit and Consultant-in-Charge of the Acne Clinic at the National Skin Centre (NSC), Singapore. She is the Chair of the Chapter of Dermatologists in Singapore, Clinical Educator Lead for undergraduate dermatology for the three medical schools in Singapore, Principal Lead for dermatology at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, SRIS Researcher at the Skin Research Institute of Singapore, and co-chair of the NSC Chronic Skin disease Right-Siting programme. She is the Regional Coordinator of the Global Psoriasis Atlas, Medical Advisor to the Psoriasis Association of Singapore, and past Secretary of the Skin Research Society. She is the principal investigator for Phase III biologic trials and has authored dermatology guidelines and books. Her areas of interest are psoriasis, acne, hidradenitis suppurativa, rosacea and photodermatology.
Professor Goh Chee Leok
Professor Goh graduated from the medical school of the National University of Singapore in 1974. He obtained his post graduate degree in 1978 and was awarded a post-doctoral degree in Doctor of Medicine in 1994. He is currently a Senior Consultant Dermatologist at the National Skin Centre and Clinical Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Singapore and Adjunct Professor of the LKC School of Medicine at the Nanyang Technology University/Imperial College of London. He was the Medical Director of the National Skin Centre, Singapore between 1990 and 2004. He is also the Chairman of the Pharmacovigilance Advisory Committee of the Health Science Authority of the Ministry of Health. He is a member of the International Contact Dermatitis Research Group. He was past president of the Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery of Singapore and also past president of the Environmental and Occupational Dermatology Society of Singapore. He is a past member of editorial board of the Contact Dermatitis (Munksgaard Publication) and past international editorial board member of the Archives of Dermatology and Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology. He has published more than 300 scientific papers in peer review journals and chapter contributor to numerous dermatology reference books and co-editor of several reference dermatology books and several educational books for the lay public.
Since the first cases of an acute respiratory illness were reported, the pathogen SARS-coV-2 (severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2) and its disease, COVID-19 have disrupted the world and changed the course of medical history. Clinics were under lockdown and supplies of critical drugs such as biologics and meladinine were delayed. The prolonged impact of disease has taken its toll on patients, their careers, medical staff, research and medical education.
