However the subject had a few interesting developments in the eighties though those developments were not studied enough during that period. However the author and a few others took notice of those developments and added considerable amount of knowledge to the area. The present monograph is a record of those contributions to the subject of Cooperative Game Theory. The area is still active and more developments and addition to knowledge is expected in the near future. This book is suitable for Master degree level students as well as the researchers. Some of the results and the proofs are from first principle and suitable for inclusion into a Master Degree program.

Amit Kumar Biswas was born on 6th of January, 1960, in a village about 75KM from the city of Kolkata in West Bengal in a middle class family. He studied in the prestigious Ramakrishna Mission School and then in the Indian Statistical Institute and continued to work in the same Institute after completion of studies.
