Dr Allan Blunden is a British translator specializing in German literature. He won the Schlegel-Tieck Prize in 2017 for his translation of Nightmare in Berlin by Hans Fallada, and has also translated biographies of Heidegger and Stefan Zweig, as well as Erhard Eppler's The Return of the State?, which was shortlisted for the 2010 Schlegel-Tieck Prize.Ritchie Robertson is Taylor Professor of German at the University of Oxford. He is a member of the board of the Voltaire Foundation which promotes research on the Enlightenment, and is a frequent reviewer for the Times Literary Supplement.
