Contemporary Quixote: Revisiting the Unnamed Place is mainly an exercise on contemporary art photography that tries to redeem the essence of todays life in Don Quixote's home, La Mancha. Dealing exclusively with the urban and rural outdoor surroundings, the overwhelming physic immanence of these surroundings determines, in some estrange way yet to be stated, an identity and a character within the collective unconscious that is this publication main theme. To portray the subtle ways by which the physical environment informs the specific mind-frame of those who live or visit this region of Spain, the book had to include brief poetic to complement the photographic portfolio. Poetry is made of and will be a substitute of all the things that we can not enclose on a text and are a crucial part of any particular state of mind: sounds, scents, somatic sensations, cadence and rhythms.... In order to reach and insight to the very specific conceptual persona of its inhabitants this text-image connection needed to be established. It is the image what compels and translates to the reader-spectator this peaceful, almost static, essence that perpetuated itself discretely, yet firmly, in the mind of those who came, come and will visit La Mancha."
