The literature review reveals that consumer rights are not protected by a few marketers.There are various types of unfair practices adopted by marketers like giving less quantity than printed, charging more than MRP, giving wrong or misleading advertising. There are very serious problems which consumers face now also, e.g. no guarantee to consumers to get goods with right quality, no conformity as to whether goods produced and preserved in hygienic conditions, or assurance of right price. Many research studies are related to role and significance and Provisions of consumer protection Act 1986.More studies are conducted to find out awareness level of consumer rights, redressal system but very few study conducted by taking the dimension of consumer behavior in relation to consumer protection. The research study related to measure product specific consumer rights awareness like Durable goods; Life Insurance, Packaged food products and E-commerce are very less. On this background a need was sense to study Consumer behavior in relation to consumer protection in Ahmednagar district.
