it is difficult in this relatively short review to do justice to the innovative and mold-breaking approach of this book and the fresh insights that Tadhg Ó hAnnracháin offers us on early-modern Irish — and European — religious developments through the prism of mobility. Though there is, of course, one simple way of resolving that difficulty — go and read this book for yourself!

Tadhg Ó hAnnracháin is a Professor of History in University College Dublin. His research concentrates on the transnational dimensions of religious change in Early Modern Europe, a field in which he has published six books and over forty articles. He was the co-PI of the Insular Christianity project, funded by the Irish Research Council, 2008-12.
