The Major objective of this book is to obtain optimum power output. Wind energy presents several challenges in order to generate electricity. The uncertainty on the constant availability of wind resource, the dynamic loads on the rotor and other components of the wind turbine due to the variable wind speed, the aerodynamic efficiency of the turbine blades, and other constraints that have been shown in the use of this renewable technology. A wind turbine is a rotary device that extracts energy from the wind. Rotor blade is a key element in a wind turbine generator system to convert wind energy into mechanical energy. Wind turbines interact with the wind, capturing part of its kinetic energy and converting it into usable energy. This energy conversion is the result of several phenomena. The wind is characterized by its speed and direction, which are affected by several factors, e.g. geographic location, climate characteristics, height above ground, and surface topography. In this book NACA 0018 airfoil is designed and analyzed for different blade angle at different wind speeds. The CFD analysis is carried out using ANSYS CFX software.
