The aim of the study was to compare the source of stress and severity of stress levels between dental and non-medical students. It showed a high prevalence of stress among dental students, this should be taken seriously and more extensive studies should be conducted in this field. Measures such as counselling, meditation, and yoga should be promoted to get rid of the stress in these students. As there are student support systems functioning in most of the states in India, students should be motivated to make use of it rather than hiding the issues. A stress reduction program could be implemented. A broad spectrum of intervention studies has evaluated such programs for dental students, including specific courses, stress-reduction sessions, introduction to behavioral sciences, and faculty incorporated advising systems. A congenial environment needs to be created by the college faculty so that students can pursue their studies with less anxiety or fear. This can be achieved by periodic interaction of the faculty with trained educational psychologists who can train the faculty in the latest educational methodologies to maximize student performance and minimize stress.
