It all started when Tennyson Mapiri lost the presidential race to one George Masupuni for the second time in a row. Whilst the republican constitution allowed him to contest the subsequent presidential elections until he had served as a president for two consecutive terms, his party's constitution only allowed him to contest a maximum of two terms. He made attempt to change the constitution of his party in order to allow him to contest the presidential elections additional times. Unfortunately his party blocked him. It was so painful to him to realize that it was not all the members of the party who stood in his way. It was only one member who stood between him and a possible presidential glory.
