We thank the American Psychological Association (APA) for providing the opportunity to prepare this edition of the book on cognitive behavioral therapy. The writing of this book began for some of us when Dr. John Carlson invited us to collaborate on video products about psychotherapy models. This activity then continued with Ed Meyden Bauer's suggestion to produce a video series on cognitive behavioral therapy. Meyden Bauer sought to provide a comprehensive overview of the various techniques and strategies that cognitive behavioral therapists use in the treatment process. We all contributed and collaborated to produce the final collection of cognitive behavioral therapy techniques and strategies. This book has 5 chapters, including:IntroductionChapter 1: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Techniques and Strategies;Chapter 2: Evaluation and Conceptualization of the Sample;Chapter 3: Session Structure and Behavioral Strategies;Chapter 4: Problem Solving;Chapter 5: Cognitive Restructuring of Automatic Thoughts and References.
