Er studierte Verschiedenes, schlug sich als Spirituosenverkäufer, Musiker und Werbesprecher durchs Leben und spielte mit dem Kabarettduo Die Nasen von Nauru zehn Jahre auf Kleinkunstbuhnen, ehe er sich dem Schreiben zuwandte.
