Website design is an important criterion for thesuccess of a website. In order to improve websitedesign, it is essential to understanding how thewebsite is used, and it is also helpful for discovering potential design problems and so for improving website design.The KDD process for website design is an approachwhich uses the clickstream data for analysing thebrowsing behaviour of users and improving the designof websites. The four steps of KDD process are DataCollection and Pre-processing, Pattern Discovery andAnalysis, Recommendation, and Action. However, thereare still some gaps in the KDD process and the KDDloop has not been closed.In this book, research into the KDD process forwebsite design improvement and related literatureswill be studied. Then, solutions will be proposed todeal with these problems. Through applications of theKDD process for website design improvement, we shouldbetter understand the browsing behaviour of users andalso anticipate improved website design. Threeempirical studies are included to show how the KDDprocess can be applied in practice, and how thedesign of websites can be improved.
