Clinical Psychology in Practice presents an authoritative introduction to the issues facing clinical psychologists in practice, and how these issues are applied in a range of clinical settings with varied client groups across the life–span. Reflecting the editors′ belief that clinical psychology is an integration of evolving theory, research and clinical practice, delivered within an ethical and reflective framework, contributors are drawn from both academic and clinical contexts.

Demonstrating the partnership between practising clinicians and researchers, the book presents academic, professional and ethical foundations of clinical psychology as well as examples of high–quality practice across the life–span. Chapters highlight the breadth of the profession and its capacity to develop new ways of responding effectively to the needs of service users, including the promotion of bibliotherapy, the delivery of culturally sensitive services, early intervention for people with psychosis, consultancy for personality disorder services, and many more.

Trainees and practitioners alike will find Clinical Psychology in Practice an invaluable and authoritative source of approaches to the range of issues that clinical psychologists are likely to face in everyday practice.
