Cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CMC) is an emerging clinical condition characterized by cardiac dysfunction in cirrhotic patients with no known cardiac pathology. This cross-sectional study, carried out at CHU Sahloul in Sousse on 76 cirrhotic patients, aimed to assess the prevalence of CMC and identify its predictive factors. Results showed that CMC affected 53.9% of patients according to the consensus definition, with a lower prevalence (40.8%) based on advanced echocardiographic techniques. Predictive factors identified include age, female gender and a CHILD PUGH score 9. The study highlights the importance of new echocardiographic techniques for early diagnosis, and suggests revising the definition of CMC to incorporate these parameters. The relationship between CMC and the severity of cirrhosis remains controversial, and further research is needed to define appropriate treatments.
