Chromium contamination in foodstuffs, soil and water has a vital interest because of its toxic nature and its potential to cause diseases in humans. So, this study laid a foundation address the problem and devised solution and mechanism so that further contamination could be stopped. In order to assess the levels of chromium contamination in water, soil, fruits and vegetables seven samples of different fruits, vegetables, soil and water were taken from an industrial state of developing country. The determined concentration of chromium in vegetables, soil and water under investigation illustrated that these carry major health hazard for the people. While on the other hand the concentration of all the controlled samples (samples collected away from the industrial areas for comparing the results) were within the limits set by Codex. The audience/people that may get benefit from this work are environmental scientists, environmental chemists and environmental toxicologists.
