Today's technology-fueled shrinking world is confronting children with unprecedented, ever-changing complexity, and the demand for tolerance and connectivity. As a result, these children of the Millennial Generation have a greater capacity to grasp advanced topics and vocabulary at a younger age than in past eras. They possess the capability to understand and internalize many of the foundational principles upon which strong families and powerful societies are built. The vision of the SamiTales storybooks is to enhance the self-awareness, sensitivity, and skills of children worldwide enabling them to adapt to the demands of our dramatically changing world, to succeed in all settings confronted, and to find peace in the journey. We believe that by capturing and sustaining children's attention, we can educate them. Through a global perspective, we will delight children and adults alike as they share in the birth and life experiences of a baby seamonster. Unique to the world of children's literature, these works can be read, appreciated, and enjoyed at a variety of progressively challenging levels from simple entertainment to life changing awakening. Each story possesses this dynamic capability.
In the first book, Son of My Son, the illustration of Grandpa Seamonster teaching young Sami as they sit on a precipice in the deep waters of Lake Kampos reveals the 8 Virtues, all of which are time-proven values that wise minds from every walk of life, past and present, have promoted as the path to peace. The 8 Virtues Program is a character education course to help re-establish core societal values into our daily lives. The 8 Virtues include: Humility, Courage, Cleanliness, Obedience, Industry, Integrity, Wisdom, and Gratitude. The virtues build upon one another with the end result of attaining peace: personal peace, environmental peace, and cultural peace. The motto, Child of Virtue, Peace is My Purpose, guides the entire program.
The Seamonster Family of Lake Kampos consists of Sami, his Mom and Dad, little sister Lizi, and Grandpa. Sami's friends include Harvey Crustacean, Bruce Bass, Cannon Catfish, Gloria Goldfish and Porsha Pike. In their underwater world, humans are to be avoided and lake pollution is becoming a problem. Whether or not seamonsters actually exist is irrelevant. What is important is their elusive, mythical qualities that will captivate and engage children and adults alike.
