The sustainable development of a region needs protection and reclamation of natural resources especially Soil and land, and also need a scientific basis for the management in harmony with environment, this resource should be managed in a sustainable manner so that the changes proposed to meet the needs of development are brought out without diminishing the potential for their future use. For sustainable use of the natural resources, a detailed charter of land resources giving its potential and constraints becomes pre-requisite for planning. The site specificity of agricultural research and technology results is largely measured from differences in two environmental variables: climate and soil. At present, most systems of land evaluation are interpretative classification. A general evaluation, based on limitations of land characteristics, is best illustrated in the United Stated Department of Agriculture capability classification. The classification automatically points out the limitations and possibilities of the climate for each crop and type of agriculture.
