Little does Travis know Weeshwah is the daughter of the Head of Council and is slated to take his place when he retires. As their relationship builds, Travis learns that there is a Yughnal, or Watcher, who has his eyes on her as well. This alien, Regni, will stop at nothing to have Weeshwah and her seat on the Council for himself. There is a constant struggle between the three of them that ends up leaving Travis in the conundrum of saving or destroying the planet he's always called home.
