Maria Fernanda de Abreu is a former professor of Comparative Literature, Spanish, Latinamerica and Portuguese Cultures and Literatures at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Former visiting professor and lecturer at different European and latin-american universities, «visiting scholar« at Harvard and Brown Universities (USA). She is research member of CHAM-Center for the Humanities (Portugal), honorary member of Asociación de Cervantistas and Foreign Correspondent Member of the Real Academia Española. Her main fields of research are Theory of Comparative Literature, Iberian Studies, Cervantes Studies, transatlantic studies, Cultural and Narrative studies.
