The book tries to help visitors to learn what plants deserve special attention, what plants are new to horticulture.The Caucasus has a very old history and culture of hospitable population, the beauty and biodiversity of the spectacular mountain environment. Tourist can see plains and lower valleys and also glaciated mountain tops in a relative short horizontal distance, rich vegetation, flora and fauna in their altitudinal diversification.

Shulkina, Tatyana Dr. Tatyana Shulkina for many years worked at the Komarov Botanical Institute, St. Petersburg, Russia. She studied wild plants native to different regions. She is author of the book: "Ornamental plants from Russia and adjacent states of the former Soviet Union". While at the Missouri Botanical Garden she studied Caucasian endemic plants.
