Martin Siegel received his Dipl.-lng. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Stuttgart, Germany, in 2010. From 2011 to 2017, he was an academic researcher at the Institute of Power Transmission and High Voltage Technology (IEH), University of Stuttgart, where he operated in the field of power transformer diagnostics and monitoring, especially unconventional partial discharge measurement methods at power transformers. In 2/2017, he left University to work as Managing Director at BSS Hochspannungstechnik GmbH, being responsible for UHF sensor and monitoring device development. In 10/2020, he successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Calibration Methods for Reproducible and Comparable Electromagnetic Partial Discharge Measurements in Power Transformers" at University of Stuttgart, Germany. Martin Siegel has authored and coauthored more than 50 research papers and is an active member of Cigré and German Power Engineering Society VDE-ETG.
