Without student motivation it is a tough, uphill challenge for the teacher to bring them learning. With motivation in place the student hungers for knowledge and skills with the teachers role as guide towards meaningful learning situations. Interrelation between student and teacher, finding and nurturing motivation, are essential tasks in this interrelationship. The vocational setting in which this book is written is based on education towards mastery of skills and competencies in ecological farming and gardening. The didactical theories explored, and case study implemented, are applied to this arena of learning. The author is convinced that the findings through this work are applicable to other vocations, that the findings are of universal relevance regarding vocational education. It is with humble gratitude that this book is being released. Many individuals deserving thanks have contributed, both as scholars, advisors, students, associates, family and friends."
