Kevin Strode is a 25 year old male, who works as a police officer in the city of Manhattan, New York. He has been in law enforcement since he was 18, but suffers nightmares and severe memory loss regarding his childhood. When he was 7 years old, Kevin underwent extensive brain surgery to replace soft tissue that was eating away from a viral infection that set in after the removal of a brain abscess. On the verge of death, his surgeon made the conscious decision to take tissue samples from the nearest body the morgue had readily available. What he failed to relay to Kevin and his parents was that the tissue he used was in fact from a serial killer that had recently been at large for several years, only until local police had shot and killed the man after spotting him on his way to a local liquor store. Throughout his adolescence, Kevin develops a slight inability to socialize with any women, especially other people likely outside of his work firm. He suffers strange nightmares of murdering people he has never met. Gradually these realistic dreams or 'memories' begin to affect him in his daily life where he fights the urge to want to attack innocent bystanders. Though he eventually finds a mate by the name Mandy, she is determined to stick by Kevin's side through his trial of turbulence. After moving into his new apartment, Kevin becomes rather close with his neighbor, Savannah Rayn. What he doesn't realize is that she is more than just a lonely neighbor; Savannah is a trapped soul who only allows Kevin to see her when she allows it. Disappearing after each time they she stays with Kevin, he becomes frustrated. His nightmares begin to worsen after time, Kevin becomes his own worst enemy while he fights whatever demon that's lurking inside of him. Trying to seek help through his priest, Father Delatonni, even he can't seem to justify what it is Kevin is experiencing. When things seem to take a turn for the worst, Savannah eventually explains to Kevin that it is her who is preying on his memory; she is the one responsible for his nightmares. She knows that Kevin possesses the memory of the day she was murdered, and the only way she could get inside his mind is by mentally relaxing him. Kevin is the only one who can set her soul free only after digging deep into the memory of his unknown nemesis, reliving the detriment of what really happened. Becoming aggressive on duty, Kevin's Chief of police puts him on sick leave, ordering him to see a doctor he was friends with. Once receiving treatment from a high class Psychologist does Dr. Sunter attempt to reach into Kevin's mind while placing him in a state of meditation to find plausible information. Later, both Kevin and his doctor come to the realization that Kevin's memories must have fused with those of the deceased murderer that was used to save his life. Knowing Kevin has to live the rest of his life with a manically disturbed past imprinted into his brain will he find a way to overcome his dark wants and continue to pursue a career to what's right or will he fail and become a person whom he fears most?
