Herbert Uerlings ist Professor für Neuere deutsche Literaturwissenschaft an der Universität Trier, Sprecher des SFB 600 Fremdheit und Armut. Seit Poetiken der Interkulturalität (1997) zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen im Bereich der Interkulturellen Germanistik/Postkolonialen Studien.
