During her graduate studies at San Francisco State University, Rochelle Robinson discovered that Black women played an important and significant role in the Women's Suffrage Movement, but this herstorical data seemed to be missing from the majority of history texts and canons, which only recognized white women as the major contributors and heroines of this period in history. In her Master Thesis, Rochelle examines this omission and dares to critique the extant historical literature that continues to play a role at undermining the struggles and experiences of Black women during this period of winning the vote for women in the U.S.
