O autorze

Rodney Cotterill (1933-2007) forschte und lehrte zunächst auf dem Gebiet der Physik und der Materialwissenschaft und widmete sich dann der Biophysik und den Neurowissenschaften. Er arbeitete am Argonne National Laboratory Chicago, an der Universität Tokio und über 30 Jahre lang an der Technischen Universität Dänemark in Kopenhagen. Seine Forschung galt vornehmlich der Physiologie des Bewusstseins, der Intelligenz und des Autismus, und er war auf diesem Gebiet einer der Pioniere der Computersimulation. Er publizierte mehr als hundert Beiträge und Bücher zu verschiedenen Themen in Physik, Biologie und Medizin. Professor Cotterill gehörte der Dänischen Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaft wie auch der Königlich-Dänischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und Literatur an.
