The Los Angeles County Weed Management Area (LA WMA) supports weed and invasive plant control based upon Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies. Weed Management Areas (WMAs) are local organizations that bring together landowners and managers (private, city, county, state, and federal) in a county, multicounty or other geographic area to coordinate efforts and expertise against invasive weeds. Through this document, the LA WMA intends to inform individuals, businesses, government agencies and non-governmental organizations on all of the currently known methods of vegetation management, effectiveness of the technique, cost, safety, and potential environmental impacts for those methods suitable for LA County. This document is designed to assist landowners and managers in using these Best Management Practices (BMPs) tailored to their specific needs for an integrated vegetation management approach.
