In the monograph long-term experience of researches of authors on design, construction and operation of buildings on weak soil of the Euro-Asian regions is generalized. Despite various climatic and engineering-geological conditions of formation, in general, the specified soil has the general regularities (R 100 kPa are characterized by the low bearing ability; high compressibility, E 5 MPa; long course a deposit in time; high arrangement of level of underground waters, etc.). The first part is made the prof. R. A. Mangushev and associate prof. A.I. Osokin in which data on designs and methods of the device of the bases of a number of historical buildings of St. Petersburg are provided, engineering-geological features of the territory of the city and types of the bases of buildings of old construction are analysed. The second part is made the prof. R. A. Usmanov in which materials and results of researches on studying of features education and formation of weak water-saturated loessial soil of the Central Asian region, to identification of effective methods of preparation of the bases and foundations in this soil taking into account high seismicity of platforms of construction"
