Bank regulation in Africa is at a crossroads. The transition from Basel I to Basel II was relatively smooth, although there were many a 'doubting Thomas' on the feasibility of Basel II banking regulatory codes. With the global financial crisis and the collapse of Basel II, the new financial regulatory architecture is anchored on Basel III.
