Nurse educators continually face new challenges asthey prepare to educate nurses to research andprovide quality care in the ever-changing health carearena. The many differences in health care today, along with a diversified nursing student population, are both contributing factors to the success orfailure of an individual student. The ultimate goalof nurse educators in baccalaureate or associatedegree granting nursing programs is to see theirstudents graduate and pass the National CouncilLicensure Examination for Registered Nurses(NCLEX-RN, NCLEX) on the first attempt. The focus ofthis study was to assess the outcomes of teachingnursing course content traditionally versus throughlearning-style approaches. The Dunn and Dunn LearningStyles Model was used to prepare nursing coursecontent to compare with traditional means of teachingin a baccalaureate nursing program. The goal of thisstudy was to enhance teaching at the baccalaureatelevel to assist with an increasingly diversifiedstudent population.
